Lessons Learned During HVAC Installation

This paper describes the implementation of a knowledge management tool to capture and reuse the lessons learned from the installation of HVAC equipment. It has been developed as an adjunct to an existing system that uses case-based reasoning to reuse previous HVAC installation specifications and designs. The system described lets engineers recall details of installation and commissioning and operational problems with HVAC systems. The paper discusses how lessons learned support the reuse and revision processes of the traditional CBR cycle.
